The information published on this website by JDM Motors of Illinois, LLC is provided for general informational purposes. We make every reasonable effort to keep listings, specifications and advice accurate, but we do not warrant that everything on this site is complete, current or free from error.

Used parts

Everything we sell is a used part unless clearly stated otherwise. Used engines, transmissions and components show wear consistent with their history. Photographs are taken of individual units but colors, surface finish, castings and attached accessories can vary. The condition of a used part is assessed by inspection and testing, not by manufacture to a new-part standard.

Mileage and history

Mileage figures associated with imported Japanese units are estimates. Engines and transmissions are exported separately from the vehicles they came out of, and verifiable odometer documentation frequently does not accompany the unit. Unless we have supplied supporting documentation in writing, any mileage statement should be understood as an approximation based on the available information and the physical condition of the unit, not as a certified measurement.

Testing

Our pre-shipment inspection, compression testing and, where applicable, leak-down testing are carried out to assess condition on the bench. They are a useful indicator of internal condition, but they are not a guarantee of future performance or service life, and they cannot replicate the loads, temperatures and running conditions the unit will see once installed in a vehicle.

Fitment and application

Fitment guidance we give by phone, email or in a listing is offered in good faith to help you choose. It is advisory. Vehicle modifications, prior repairs, market variants and differences between Japanese-market and US-market specifications mean the buyer and the buyer’s mechanic are responsible for confirming that a part is correct for the vehicle and the intended use before installation.

Technical advice

Any technical comment we make about an engine family, a common failure point or an installation approach is general guidance from our experience with these units. It is not a substitute for a factory service manual, a diagnosis of your specific vehicle, or the judgement of the qualified mechanic performing the work.

Regulatory and emissions compliance

Requirements for engine swaps, imported parts, emissions equipment and vehicle inspection differ by state and by locality. We do not represent that any part we sell is compliant with the rules that apply where you live or where the vehicle will be registered. It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm compliance before purchasing and installing. Parts identified as being for off-road, competition or export use are not sold for use on public roads.

Installation

We are a parts supplier and do not perform installations. Working on vehicles involves risk of serious injury. Engines and transmissions are heavy, and fuel, coolant and electrical systems are hazardous. Installation and any related work should be carried out by a qualified professional using appropriate equipment. We accept no responsibility for injury, property damage or vehicle damage arising from installation or from work carried out on or around a part supplied by us.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JDM Motors of Illinois, LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information published on this site, including indirect, incidental or consequential loss.
